Welcome to The Hobbyist Life, we are so excited for you to take this journey with us.
What is a Hobbyist? A Hobbyist is a person with passion and drive, who has built or wants to build a life around doing what they love. A Hobbyist doesn't sacrifice doing what they love in the face of opposition.
At The Hobbyist Life, it is our mission to change the idea of what a woman with a "hobby" is. In fact we want to celebrate it with you. As Hobbyists, we all have insecurities, and need a little push now and then. This was one of the main reasons we created this site. Our main goal at The Hobbyist Life is to ignite passions within our readers. We know life gets busy and sometimes we put our dreams on hold. But we are here to tell you that you can find the time to go after what you love. We all have busy schedules, and we are here to help. From running a marathon, to starting your own business, and even just finding time for yourself as a mother, The Hobbyist Life is here to inspire you.
How? Every week we will interview amazing women in all walks of life. From published authors, entrepreneurs, fitness gurus, to seasoned travelers and successful bloggers, we will ask them to share their stories on how they've managed to achieve the success they've had. What tips would they recommend for women looking to achieve a dream they've long desired, what are their biggest fears, and how have they faced them. What are some daily routines they swear by, what does their "process" look like, and who is their inspiration. These are just a few questions we ask to pinpoint their "why" (why they do what they do), and "how" (how they do it). Our goal is to find common themes that we all can relate to and apply, because we can learn something from each Hobbyist, to help streamline our own success.
We also follow lead contributors Becky Perkins and Meg McAlarney as they take on the task of balancing motherhood, while maintaining a sense of self. Becky will share her love for baking, cooking, photography and we will take a glimpse into her family life as a military wife and mother of three boys in Cape May, New Jersey. Meg will share with you how she balances living back and forth between New York and Orleans, France, raising a one year old, and finding time to do the things she loves, like running, yoga, photography, baking, and much more. .
The Hobbyist Life is a place to share big dreams, a place to create, a place to be inspired, a place to connect with other women, a place to really believe in yourself, and a place to discover that you are much stronger than you think you are at times. We as women are sometimes held back, whether by others or ourselves, but anything is possible if we focus our energy and attention in the right place. When women come together and encourage each other to do the things we love doing, amazing things can happen. So we want to connect with you! Life is short, if we work together to help each other, it makes the journey a more enjoyable one. So take this journey with us. We are here for you just like you are here for us by visiting The Hobbyist Life and supporting the great women we feature each day.
